To be a modern gentleman in today’s world, certain qualities are required. Style is one of them. Unfortunately, most inspiring gentlemen get caught up with price tags and designers to realize they are missing something. It’s not about the clothing, it’s about the demeanor.

As we enter a new decade we must remember that our inspiration should be found in the archives of our rich history and not with the popular trends in today’s society. Google and LIFE Magazine teamed up to provide never-before-seen photographs from the LIFE archive bringing over 10 million photos online, most of which had never been published.

The men captured in the photos bellow had authenticity that defined them on all levels. They were icons. They had style. They were gentlemen.

Years down the road don’t be apologizing for the Affliction t-shirt you were wearing in that photo. Keep it classic gents…

Know who you are   x   say what you want to say   x   and don’t give a damn…
