In a fast paced marketplace of highly competitive auto manufacturing, changing cultural priorities necessitate safer vehicles that look better, drive cleaner, and move faster. This has been a precarious challenge for many car makers, who are pacing each other to find the most valuable balance of technology. Mercedes-Benz has strongly persevered and driven through the various ups and downs of our industrialized global economy to always provide a low compromise opportunity for a luxurious, spirited driving experience. The HGmotorsports CLS63 AMG more closely resembles the $8mill tire testing Maybach Excelero than the green crowned atmospheric S400 BlueHybrid. While it won’t save the planet, it’ll get you across it with character and clout. This CLS defines power through well fashioned engineering, and showcases brilliance in progressive design. In all forms of experience it definitively positions itself as one of the most beautifully appointed fast, loud, “exclusive sized” sport sedans of the day. HG’s Dieter Heinz shares why…

The CLS63 is one of my favorite current MB’s, although I’m partial to coupes in the first place. The interior is beautifully crafted with a large wood dash panel, thick half suede paddle shift steering wheel and great form fitting front sport seats. Adding the two rear doors just makes a this ‘coupe’ that much more practical. Its low, sleek and can fit a huge tire under the rear fenders to help put the almost 500whp to the street.

When it came time to customize this CLS63 we started with the most important…grip and fitted the car with new wide wheels and tires, a RENNtech lowering module and performed a 4wheel alignment. Next came the power, we started with a ECU reflash and EVOsport carbon intake but shortly after decided to go all in and install RENNtech headers, EVOsport crank pulley and custom catback exhaust. After driving the car for a few months the owner decided he didn’t want to look like every other CLS out there. We started by ‘smoking out all the exterior lamps. Shortly after we decided to complete the ‘blacked out look’ by removing any and all chrome moldings and parts and repainting them a medium matte black.

Engage the road with seriousness, gents…
